Epidemik.com Peach Review

Peach @ Studio 33

Friday 20 Feb 2004

As soon as we came out the train station we were met by flashing Eric, who I'm sure is well known to all you regular Peachy ravers!!!!

I'm told that he was barred from Camden Palace for swearing & being abusive to the door staff, (bless him).

He's such a kind hearted, giving man. He'd share everything he's got with anyone, but when he tried to ‘share' his pee with the door staff at Camden they took offence!!!!!

We followed Eric & his illuminated trolley to Studio 33, seeing as Eric had made the transmission from Camden to Vauxhall I was sure that Studio 33 would be rammed.

We arrived quite early & Peach hadn't even started yet. There was a small cluster of ravers queuing to go in so we went in the pub opposite for a swift half while we waited for the stampede of wide eyed Peachy ravers to arrive.

We left the pub to make our way in about 10:40pm

Outside the pub were 2 lovely chaps flogging everything you'd need to go ravin with, tickets, lighters, everything.

We got a great deal, 6 Glow sticks for £4, BARGAIN!!!!! (2 of which we later sold to a fruity Raver inside for £5!!!!!!!)

There wasn't anywhere inside to buy your fluresent goods, maybe that's something they could start selling over the bar (?)

Security, were polite & fair & did the usual searches.

Inside was quite plush, clean & freshly painted.

In the first room you'll find the bar & some nice comfy sofas. Probably for all the girls that had decided to wear ankle numbing heels!!!

We went into the second room & found that they were playing the same tunes as the first, it was all quite soft & mellow & I thought that it wasn't going to be my thing.

This room was like the main room, big dance floor with loads of funky lights & strobes.

By 11:30pm it had progressed to hard house, & the crowd started avin' it.

The unknown Peachy Raver (i.e. me!!!) blends in & dissolves into the beat.

The smell of Old Spice drifted my way, I'm not sure if it was from some of the more mature Ravers present (GAME ON!!!!!) or if I got too close to flashing Eric before I went in!!!! Or maybe I was just off it?

I was waiting for the third room to open so I could go & have a nose but I was told by security that it wouldn't be opening that night. They put a sofa in front of the doors so I had no chance of getting a sneaky peak. (I was in no fit state to start climbing!!!!)

The hyperactive tune junkie PK did a wicked set 12 – 4am, he knocked out a litter of offensive mixing that everyone went nuts for!!!!! He did all flavors from Oldskool to garage with a bit of classy scratching in between.

Unlike the palace, studio 33 offers an after party which is produced by ‘Milk.' 6am until 1pm for £5.

I'm sure once Peach goes Hard finishes at the palace at the end of February all you Peachy Ravers will make the journey across town to studio 33. You all packed the place for the opening & I'm sure you will in the future!!!! It's a good venue for Peach; it just needs all you regulars to give it some nutty Peachiness'!!!

So bloody make the journey across the water, it's not as if you've got to swim!!!!
